Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu has succeeded office taking part as the Spokesperson for Uganda Peoples Defence Force.
This was announced on Tuesday by Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso on her twitter account as her handing over office was because she is being set to attend a one year course at the National Defence College in jinja.
“I have today officially handed over the office of Defence Spokesperson to my Deputy Lt Col Ronald Kakurugu as i prepare to attend National Defence College, I wish Lt Col Kakurungu the best,” says Brig General Flavia Byekwaso.
Kakurungu has been acting as the Deputy Defence Spokes Person at UPDF since June last year having replaced Col Deo Akiki.
Lt Col Kakurungu is a military publicist with experience of over several years as he has handled UPDF Media Relations for a long time as a spokesperson of several Divisions across the country.
He came into limelight at the peak of UPDF operations in Rwenzururu kingdom to stop the Forces termed as Anarchy by the kingdom’s Royal Gaurds in 2016.
